Pupils at Ark Acton have a full school day allowing them to study & be successful in a wide range of subjects and interests. Once a week all students have a compulsory co-curricular programme alongside our extensive extra-curricular clubs and trips.
Key timing information for our school day:
- Gates open each morning at 8.10am and close at 8.28am.
- Our day runs from 8:30am to 4:10pm on Monday.
- On Tuesday to Friday our school day runs from 8:30am to 3:40pm.
- This means pupils should be in school for at least 37 hours per week.

Punctuality
To ensure a calm and purposeful start to the school day, students will undertake very important routines to support their overall learning in lessons.
The school gates are open from 8.00am. The students will be greeted by the leadership team to ensure they start the day with a positive mindset. Their uniform will be checked on arrival. All year groups have a designated entrance and area in the playground where they can safely wait.
Ark Acton Academy students will start the school day at 8.30am by following a tight lining up routine in their tutor groups The pastoral leader will put their hand up and expect students to follow the social norm of lining up in silence. They will then be led into the building with their tutor.
