Ark Acton Academy students achieve best GCSE results in school’s history
Ark Acton Academy is celebrating today after students achieved the best GCSE results in the school's history. Despite the significant dip in national results, the school improved their outcomes in comparison to last year. English and maths attainment is up 7 percentage points from 2019 and 3 percentage points on 2022.
Ark Acton Principal Oli Knight said, “I am delighted that our students have been rewarded for their resilience and hard work. Securing strong GCSE outcomes is vital to helping our students thrive in adult life – even more so given the pressures of the past few years. This rounds off a great year for the school as we secured our first ever Good Ofsted judgement and fantastic university and apprenticeships for our recent Year 13 leavers. We could not be prouder of what our students have achieved and look forward to welcoming many back to our sixth form in a few weeks.”
Particular student successes include:
- Jayden Enede, the youngest of three brothers to attend Ark Acton, secured nine GCSEs with Grades 8 and 9. Jayden is also a fantastic musician and is going on to study Physics, Maths and Economics in our sixth form.
- Julia Gutkowska, secured ten GCSEs with Grades 8 and 9. This has set her up well to follow her ambition of becoming a doctor.
- Mohamedamin Nuur secured six Grade 9s, including English and Maths. This excellent set of results provides Mohamedamin with his choice of A level courses.
- Kevyn Dantas, who is captain of the academy football team and has secured a contract with Brentford FC, achieved ten Grade 7s and above.
Ark Acton Academy is holding open events for September 2024 entry on Wednesday 4th October from 5:30pm and a Sixth Form open evening on Wednesday 29th November 2023.
