In the last academic year 84% of Year 11 students on the SEN register applied for an appropriate post-16 course and 87% were offered their first or second preference of course. We want to build on this success by ensuring more students achieve a place on an appropriate course of their choice.

 

It is our aim for all students on the SEN register to receive a 1:1 careers session by the end of November, to ensure they are supported in making informed choices about their post-16 options.

 

The most vulnerable students on the SEN register will be supported in making applications by SENDCo and Deputy SENDCo in 1:1 and small group sessions.

 

Year 11 students with an EHCP will have their annual reviews completed before December to ensure the local education authority have adequate time to consult with appropriate post-16 destinations.
