Economics and Business Studies

Students can also study Business or Economics at A level. Have you ever wondered what qualities entrepreneurs Richard Branson, Alan Sugar and JK Rowling have in common? While studying Business you may discover that you share some of the same qualities as these famous entrepreneurs.

The Business and Economics department will expose you to new terminology, concepts and current issues. The intent is for you to develop a strong business vocabulary, critical and analytical thinking, and decision-making skills. These will be developed by working on your own, and in groups, studying real-life businesses and monitoring the UK and global economies.

Topics you can expect to study in Business include Marketing, Human Resources, Finance and Operations.

Economists get to juggle numbers and discover theories that might be earth-shattering.
